Privacy policy
Last updated: [date]
This policy explains what personal data Pontra collects, why, and what rights you have. It applies to employers who contact us about a role and to engineers who join the Pontra network.
Who we are
Pontra is operated by [legal entity name], registered under [registration number], [registered address]. We are the data controller for the data described here. Contact: liam@pontra.eu.
What we collect
- Employers: name, company, work email, phone number, and the details you share about the role (title, location, requirements, context).
- Engineers: name, email, current industry, location, LinkedIn or CV link, and the experience you describe — plus, if we work together, the notes from our technical assessment.
- Technical data: standard server logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss a role — our legitimate interest, or steps taken at your request before a contract.
- To deliver our recruitment service to employers — performance of our contract.
- To assess engineers and introduce them to employers — only with your explicit permission, given for each introduction. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To meet legal obligations, such as accounting and tax records.
Who we share it with
We never sell personal data. An engineer's profile is shared with an employer only after the engineer has agreed. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf — hosting ([e.g. Vercel]) and email delivery ([e.g. Resend]) — under data processing agreements.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
- Employer enquiries: [24 months] after our last exchange, unless we work together.
- Engineer profiles: until you ask us to delete them, and at most [24 months] after our last contact.
- Contract and invoicing records: as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to liam@pontra.eu and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in [country], the [authority name].
Security
Access to candidate and client data is limited to the people who need it to deliver the service, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
